A las 5:30 AM, hora local de Los Ángeles, la actriz Zazie Beetz (conocida por su papel en Joker) y el actor Jack Quaid (parte del elenco de Oppenheimer) anunciaron las nominaciones para la 96ª entrega de los premios Óscar. El evento tuvo lugar en el teatro Samuel Goldwyn en Beverly Hills.
La gala, organizada por la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS), está programada para el domingo 10 de marzo y será presentada por Jimmy Kimmel, quien ya ha sido anfitrión en tres ocasiones. Hamish Hamilton dirigirá el evento, mientras que Raj Kapoor y Katy Mullan, quienes colaboraron en el especial Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, serán los productores.
